Our client operates a car repair workshop. Pursuant to his day to day operations, his shop caught fire and was severely burnt. The fire had escalated and damaged his neighbour’s premises. A few months after the fire, the neighbour had issued a letter of demand to our client to pay for the damages arising from the fire which started from our client’s premises. Our client activated the Public Liability insurance and paid the demand in full. The claim was about RM200k.
